I'm contemplating a project involving this IC but I'm worried about the code for it. There is no mention of writing any code for it in the datasheet that is obtainable from the CMedia website and haven't been able to find anymore info regarding this. Is it a case of creating the circuit and plug and play or do I need to write software for it?

There is a piece of software that you would get from CMedia under NDA that
programs the chip with the features you want.

That's great thanks however I still need to find a schematic for the device and I can't do it, can someone help with this also?
