Hello i've build a closed subwoofer for the lower frequenties that my esl's can't handle.
but, the sub is sounding a bit booming...
so i was thinking about making is it open baffle by making really big hole on the backside of the subwoofer?
size is 42 by 42 by 57 cm's
weight 36 kilo's

If you are finding it boomy I suspect that there is an issue with the room and/or the integration with your main speakers and there is no need to cut your subwoofer. Try moving the subwoofer around. How are you driving the sub and what filters and EQ etc are you using? Details of the subwoofer as well would be helpful...

Well i gave the dimensions and i gave a link to the specs of the driver...
I moved the subwoofer around for some time now, but nothing helps.
Which I would be willing to bet money on is the cause of your problems. You need a proper filter matched to your main speakers.
I think richie00boy is right, it seems you doesn't have a lowpass filter because your subwoofer is strong over 80 Hz. It's also overboosted in that range. Try lowering the gain of the subwoofer maybe.

I think the receiver has a low-pass filter, but it will be the typical 80Hz 2nd-order, which is probably not the best match for his main speakers. IMO going dipole is not addressing the real problem, if it even solves it at all.
I found it hard to believe it would be because there is not a filter present.
So I tested some more and found out it was my own (dc coupled) amplifier.
For now I am using a regular stereo amplifier.

The UcD modules are easy to assemble into a power amp, and Hypex are based in your country.
I can also say that I have had great results with ZAPpulse modules from LC Audio.
