i've been working on a box design for a dayton reference 7" woofer and a 3" tang band mid/tweeter. currently, i plan to use these as computer speakers, so they will be fairly close to me, and not directly faceing me. both speakers are phase plug designs.
in anycase, i've heard that TL speakers typically have the speaker near the top and the port near the bottom. I can do this with and it models so far pretty well, but i wonder if it is a good idea for the speakers placed so close to me?
any opinions?

I don't think it'll hurt, but if the crossover isn't designed just right you might hear 2 sources of sound. The 2 drivers should blend and you shouldn't be able to detect which driver is reproducing what to the music.
