Clocks

Hi guys,

I have got a question and maybe there is material enough to make it an interesting thread.

I have a nice clock in my transport and now I wonder if it is sensible to have (the same) a nice clock in my dac.

I somewhere read that either one of those clocks is important ...it seems to shut off or something...also the master slave bit confuses me.

Can somebody explain that bit (or understandable link)

An interesting question. If I read the thread of Doede Douwma , he stack the pcm1794, and use the bit clock too, as a master clock .
So I think its more importend for a good I2S clock, because the information is
contain in it. I have never read of someone check- meassure that clocks on right working/ exact frequency. A right picture on the scoop, like the spdif and
eyepattern. I believe in a good masterclock, I have heard every time an improvement if I change the habit clock for a superclock.

Hi,

In my transport the Dexa Neutron Star Reference Clock with their PSU.
In my DAC the Tent Clock with their PSU.
