Clock on Denon Dvd 2900

With all due respect, (AFAIK) the DVD2900 does not utilize Denon's AL24 chip, so the clock really can make a difference, significantly reducing the jitter from the original clock's 158pS to a mere fraction, which translates into better sound quality (especially noticeable on RedBook CD playback).

I do not own a 2900 but a 2930...
From the schematics of 2900 thou I can see clearly the PCM signals from DVD Processor (and only those) being routed via IC201 that it is called "Audio Decoder/Bass management", code ADSPMEL322 and has a 12.288MHz xtal .
Maybe that's not AL24 like in my 2930 (has a different TI DSP chip) but I am sure it does some reclocking because of the presence of xtal.
I see a selector that can bypass front chanels from being processed, but I am not sure when it does that bypassing. Is it a setting in the menu like "direct" for front channels or CD?
If that's the case, yes, the 27MHz clock will have a benefic influence for PCM, but only in that in the "bypass" mode. For DSD is clearly better.

Another problem

Hello everyone
So ... today I mounted the new quartz 27 mhz.tried to turn it on and no longer read cd / dvd and is very slow to turn on.
The quartz have these data:
Quartz frequency 27.000 Mhz - HC49
Crystal (HC49U) 27.000 Mhz
Is there something wrong?
Please help me
Regards
Paolo

Thanks Guys!
I have done some mods finally to my player. Stock it kinda sucked for analog playback, but a few mods with some parts on hand and I am very happy. Real quick run down I removed all those naughty electros from the output signal, and placed some better films I had around in there. Also the OpAmps were replaced with sockets and stuffed them with some OPA2134's. Under the ops I added some PS caps and .1uf bypass polys. Also with the second set of jacks I decided to run the L/R jacks straight from the outs of the OPA2134's with a 100r inline. Very happy indeed. The whole audio presentation is much better. The soundstage is the best notable gain.
I love this place!
Pic's and write up are here.
