From what I understand, a lower impedance load on an amp will draw more power and sound louder, while a higher impedance load will draw less power and sound quieter. Is this correct?
My question is, in either case, if you turn the volume control so you get the same decibel level, which load will cause the amp to clip sooner, or are they both the same?

Its simply depends on the amplifiers ability to drive low
loads, if it can they are better, it can't they are not.

Most (all?) amp topologies I'm familiar with when put into a SPICE simulation clip further from the rails with lower loads. That is they will clip sooner. I can't say which will be loader because that's a function of the speaker's sensativity. The interesting thing about the SPICE simulation is that voltage source assume unlimited current and stlll lower loads clip sooner.
