What do you guys use to clean the mirrors on an OHP? Specifically the small mirror over the lens that projects on the wall. I tried using a lens/LCD cleaner but it left a residue on the mirror.
I'm not familiar with the lens (just saw the post on the front page) but I work in an optics lab and we use spectroscopic grade methanol. Not the cheap stuff from the hardware store and soft lens tissues. (probably a nice camera store would have them) They are disposable and looks something like kleenex (but don't use that)
If the lens is really bad (lots of fingerprints or oil) We first clean with acetone then remove the acteone residue with methanol. and if you need the cleanest clean there is you can follow up with ethanol. (Then have a party after 🙂 )
Here's a link with the basics

It really does take a little practice to do it perfectly.

I own an OHP; I clean it with cotton and rubbing alcohol.
I just used what's on hand. But I perfered to used the "eyeglasses cleaning fluid" because it leaves less streak.
You can get them at anywhere they make eyeglasses.

The 97% alcohol you buy at the pharmacy is what manny use in the telescope world, even quite a few specticle manufactures.
Another alternative is dishwashing liquid on a soft cloth quite moist, wipe this over the lens, then rinse off with distilled water, dry with a very soft cloth and your done, it should be as good as new. The dishwashing idea also is very frensel safe and wont harm any coatings on any lens.
