For the the Project TT's you can by a better AC feed.
I asume that it is an stable SineWave Generator with a chipamp as power amp.
Am I correct?
It should be easy to build a frequency controlable sinewave generator feeding a simple chipamp.

Why not forget AC completely, and go DC? Use a DC Scheu-motor, maybe even run it on batteries? I just did on my Pro-ject, and am gobsmacked by the result. Even though it's a different principle, I don't think highly of the motors Pro-ject uses -anymore. So why go through all the trouble when the motor still is s**t?

I got it from Scheu, a very nice set, the motor, switch, pots etc. already connected, complete with some damping/mounting material, a roll of string (THIN!!!) and an adaptor. And two sheets of instructions/documentation. Great service! Thank you Thomas!
The Pro-ject motor drives the subplatter, the Scheu is intended to drive the outside of the platter. On my RPM 4 this is easy; just sling the string around the platter. I'm not shure which shape your platter has. As long as it has a straight side, you could use it.

I've been using the motor for a couple of days now, and it's safe to say that this brought my turntable to another level...
I was dreaming about building a turntable, but I think I'll stick with this one for a while longer, and maybe try another arm or something. (Ladegaard???)
