Hi guys,
I am midway through building my classix 2.5's and have begun laying out my crossovers.
I would like to use the same crossover layout as I did for the classix 2 (which came with the kit i purchased from meniscus). I have not used an iron core inductor before, so I am wondering what are the placement issues with this type of inductor (facing the other coils/running alongside the coils etc)
I have attached how I would like to place it. Could this cause any issues?
It's about 9" from one end of the layout to the other.
Cheers!

I can't see a problem with your layout. Also, crossovers are always best placed in the corner of cabinets as this is were the cabinet is strongest and least prone to vibrations. Plus, place them onto a small piece of dynamat or other shock absorbing compound.
Looks a nice project!

It's just a good idea that coils are placed at right angles to reduce dipole interaction. The idea is if you look down the axis of a coil, you can't see any other nearby coils.
Or keep them well apart. With 4 coils and only 3 right angles available in our own 3D spacetime, something is not going to work. 😀
So keep the worst pair well apart IMO. Reduces crosstalk.

Awesome, thank you for your help!
I am currently planning to just velcro the crossovers onto the bottom of the cabinet like i did my last build which seemed to work okay! May opt for a more permenant option though.
Cheers!

You are better off fixing them down properly, they will rattle around when the air starts moving.
It looks like you are using decent caps, why ferrite core inductors?
