Why such a large heat sink? Class D switches and dissipates very little power (heat wise).

If it has 900W output and is 90% efficient at full load, it still has to dissipate almost 100W of heat.

But music power is just 1/8th of the sine wave power so I agree that in normal use, those heatsinks are overkill 😉

They should have put heatsink on driver IC though, I bet those are heating up beyond normal. (Unless they used low gate charge mosfets and lowered the osc. freq)
