Class D basic construction

I have been using my triamp for the last 5 years and am looking at building a class D amp.
I have no experience with class D and am after some advice.
Power would be around 50w per channel and the plan is to eventually build a triamp unit.
I have a preference for using discrete components as I have had problems in the past with discontinued chips.

It's the "grand father" of a lot of designs, and there is a lot to be learned from this document I think.

There are other ways of doing it, and other feedback topologies, not least UcD, and not claiming what is better or worse ... it will be much about the implementation, which is actually not always so easy, as you are dealing with high current, fast switching circuits. But go for it ... it's a lot of fun 🙂

Thanks for the info everyone, will do some more research.
One of the reasons for aiming at 50w output was based on my triamp which has approx 50w from each amp but it is not set in stone.
Also the power supplies for my triamp are very heavy so the ultimate aim was to build a triamp in class D, not sure whether it's practical yet.
I just get such a good sound from the triamp compared to a single amp.
