Citronic PPX900 Repair Attempt

Hi guys,

Someone gave me a Citronic PPX900 Amp a little while ago now. One Channel sometimes outputs okay and the other one seems to be fairly quiet. I've checked the microfarads on most of the capacitors and they seem to be a bit hit or miss. I haven't actually removed them from the board yet so I know I'll be getting variable ratings. When the volume is adjusted they seem to crackle a bit in-between and I'm trying to pinpoint what components may be at fault. Am I best off just replacing all the capacitors and seeing where it goes from there or am I well off?

Any help would be much appreciated. Cheers guys.

First get a schematic. Then clean all the switches, sockets pots, connectors, etc. with DeOxit D5.
Then see what problems still remain. Don't just replace parts, especially if there's no evidence of their being at fault.

That's a good shout actually. I sort of jumped to the decision that there must be something a bit more indepth wrong with it. I'll definitely do that but the nature of the fault just doesn't really make sense being poor connections considering that the volume appears to be so variable. The crackelling happens when adjusting the volume. Just to clarify I have also used 3.5mm jack and also XLR and problems persist so I know this isnt the route of the problem. The cab is okay as it has been tested on another amplifier. I have found the wiring schematic but the only problem I could really see there being would be the Capacitors or the rectifier as they are the most likely to go down.
