the strip does work with dry erase markers but i didn't like that cause my wrists and palms would get stained and wipe away the writing. i used white electrical tape(leaves no or minimal glue residue)and a Sharpie.

Thanks! What I'll do is switch the top and bottom strips so the top one has the writing space. It won't be as close to the fader, but that's still really handy.

from the look of the corrosion that board's had more drinks than i have had lately!

what section is that with the "overheating"? might be burns from someone touching up solder joints in the past. so far visual inspection is showing signs of a rough life...

Power decoupling.
And some rubbing alcohol cleaned the area right up. Replaced the jumpers and threw in some OPA2134's for kicks.

Decoupling saves the day.

so adding decoupling reduced the hiss noise?
how's the rest of rebuild going?

i save the longer leftovers of wire strippings and recycle them as insulators for long exposed component leads (may help prevent inadvertent shorts)

Sorry for not replying for so long, but no, if anything it was noisier after the mods. Next thing I'm trying is replacing the 072's on a channel with 2072's as the only mod, and seeing what that does.
