I tested all the high res flac material I could find, with different sample rates up to 24bit/192 KHz over SPDIF from Foobar with WASAPI. Sounded great with everything I've thrown at it.

I was pleasantly surprised that DIR9001 handles sampling rates up to 192KHz pretty well, without any stability issues or sound quality problems. It actually sounds equally great on all frequencies.
Hi Zdr, very nice project! Do you have an estimate, how much would cost the BOM? I see you used only one opamp/channel, did you used passive I/V conversion?
Also i see no elcaps on your board, you went exclusively on non polar caps?
I'm surprised when you say you cannot hear differences between dacs, there should be at least some minor differences.

There are no elkos, only x7r ceramics since they are not in signal path. Passives cost almost nothing, you can calculate the cost if you add up active components roughly. They are also available as samples if you can go that route.

One thing that concern me is the optical reciver DLR1130. It doesn’t seem to be avalible at Mouser or digikey. Can it be replaced? Or do you where to get it (not eBay, Since Sweden have high taxes from China etc.)
Also the part SN74LSV157 can’t be found at Mouser. Is it possible to replace with another part?

Hi Daniel, my bad. I should have included other footprints as well. However, this one will probably fit:

Pinout and pitch is the same, you would probably need to cut off the plastic legs and glue the receiver to PCB. I glued my DLR1130 anyway, as some optical connectors require more force to get in than others, and those plastic legs just don't provide enough mechanical support.
This is the multiplexer, it was a typo:

All resistors are SMD 1206 metal film 1%. Caps are all X7R 1206 size. Some DIR9001 batches have issues going up to 192KHz, not that you would need it. Material from the same master sounds the same in my setup and with my ears, whether I play it at 44KHz or 192KHz.

I believe if you would use a higher performance usb>spdif converter instead of PCM2707 you could hear some differences. I consider there are much better performing usb converters in 2020.
