Anybody had any experience with it? Like a lot of the Ciare full range drivers, has a rising response, do they come across like this in real world listening?

It does seem to rise a little from 500Hz, though I expect a greater source of response shaping would be from baffle step, where the length of the driver's acoustic centre to the edge of the baffle is significant to a wavelength. At this point, the driver turns from radiating in 2pi (half space, ie, mounted on a wall) to radiating in 4pi, having a spherical radiation pattern. Because of this change, some of the energy projected is "wasted" by not going towards the listener. There are methods of making the response flat again (ie, cutting down the higher frequencies a little).
Hang on, here's someone that explains it better than me...
