Choosing PS caps

As most of you who have read my other posts know, I have a low-powered sub using a lm3886 amp. I currently use a 48VCT transformer. For the caps in the PS, I used 1300uf 50V caps. I know it isn't enough. I am sure i can increase the quality of the sound and reduce clipping by adding more capacitance.

I would have used more capacitance, but only had one of larger values. I would lie to use a 15000uf 35V cap, but only have one. I bought 8 2200uf 35V caps, and want to know how many in parallel would be good. I wouldn't like to use them all, but if I have to, i can always get more. They were only 25 cents!!

So, do I assume that the higher capacitance wont do anything?

If so, how much capacitance is needed to reduce distortion?

Add 4 on each rail to give you 10,000uF per rail.

1300uF is way too low, around 10,000uF good.

Not a lot of point going over 10,000uF.

It might be worth removing the 1300uF capacitors as
you've probably exceeded their ripple current rating,
so they will not be in good shape.

Use 4 to 6 2200uF per rail.

Will this help reduce distortion also? Will it even clean up the sound and allow deeper bass?

While I'm on the topic of power supplies, does the same go for my 4 lm3886 amp in B/P mode? Or do I need 40000uf on each rail?
