Choke question

A choke is a choke is a choke...

Now that I have two differing views can I still use my LC choke for a CLC circuit?

Of course you can, just so long as the sum of the peak AC current and DC current don't exceed the maximum current rating.

By the way, here's a swinging choke.

.355mm2/amp is a common conservative rating (700 circular mils/amp). You must rate conservatively for winding use, as bunched together and little cooling.

Calculate the AC+DC power that will be dissipated in the windings, this is the real criteria here. The insulation may handle it, but you may not want your choke to be 80C.
