i am building a power supply for tube preamp and using choke or inductor of 25H/590ohm. i am just wondering if the choke polarity is a concern?
if its a concern, how to determine the polarity? as i saw some schematic has it polarity (+) connected to the input.
thanks in adv

inductors/chokes do create a magneitc field of particular polarity with current flow direction
this is usually not important in their behavior as simple 2 - terminal choke/inductors
it is important when coupling to other windings as in transformers or common mode chokes -determining the relative polarity of the induced V
