Hi,
i bought a used Chiro 5.1 DD/DTS decoder with DTS board included cheap from a private source.
The decoder works fine decoding DD and DTS data streams including DTS CDs played with my CD player.
What is not working is the decoding of PCM data from normal CDs, even if this should be possible according to an old article in the german Video magazine.
Does anybody on this board has or had this unit and give me some information on this issue?
Thanks in advance
Jochen

Hi Jochen,
I had this unit years ago, along with the Chiro processor, and it does not decode PCM data at all. Basically, it is a DD/DTS decoder but NOT a DAC.

Hi Mike,
thank you for the information. I have to switch to the analog output of the DVD then when only linear PCM is available, but i can cope with that. Perhaps i will tweak the output stages a little bit because the OPs used seem somewhat outdated.
