Chinese tube preamps???

Anyone have experience with this or similar? XiangSheng 728A Vacuum Tube Pre-Amplifier Preamp Shigeru Wada Japan circuit (Silver) I also have seen some knock-offs of the Cat SL1. Any thoughts on these? Maybe some cap changes would make these sound better. My system is too detailed and bright sounding and I have to run my volume control at 7 O'clock position or it is very load.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

If you want to try a valve amp, try a DIY PRT-02A 6N2 Tube preamplifier kit base on AUDIO NOTE M7 preamp R130 | eBay (can also be bought it kit form) Change the capacitors to decent ones, also the valves to Russian 6N2-P (may need valve base converters)

Then you will have a very good but reasonable priced unit that will not break the bank if it's not a cure for the problem.
