got sent this just the other day...
Trio, or was one crucified.
The point really was that Ferry is - and increasingly so - extremely precious about his "art". He can be extremely pretentious and a pita about it; but he started his post school life as an 'art' student!

Brian Ferry is quite pretentious but I don't think that has much to do with having been to art school. Art school was the place many british bands from the '60s and '70s had their roots, from the Stones to the Clash.

Fair enough, but Ferry makes such a fuss about it; very few of the others did, and none to the same extent.

Autopoieisis -
Most unfortunate picture, even more unfortunate band name, though quite likely it's the poor schlep's real name.

Clash bassist Paul Simonon might quietly run Brian a close second though.
For years he refused to join a reunion of "the only band that matters" because it might compromise his career as a painter. Right up until Joe Strummer died when it was too late.

I'm a bit puzzled by your comment, Paul had a serious interest in painting from childhood or so it seems. Out of respect I wouldn't judge one way or the other.

So... If they're a quartet, then why are only three people on the cover? We already have one vote for for crucifixion. Judging from the picture, my vote is that the fourth is off, um, handling.
