Re: CS8416 & TDA1543 - Troubleshooting
with this setup, you will produce only hard clipping distortion when you finally get I2S on the dac chip...
these resistor values are meant for 8 volt supply

Re: Re: CS8416 & TDA1543 - Troubleshooting
I found the resistor values on your H.page, I conclude it was for a single TDA1543, and with more than one TDA5143 chip you just divided the R values with the chips you using.
And yes, maybee the 4.2 vdc on the output is little to high with 5v rail.
About the I2S output I tried every combination but no success.
So something else is wrong.

not little, WAY too high.... you need to redo this !
have you measured if you have any signals at all or what? do you put a scope on it?

That would be clipping on the top have.
I have a separate question. Instead using R for Vref (of 1.2), what is the difference if a constant voltage source is tap to pin 6 and 8 and leaving pin 7 open, what is difference as compared to using resistor at pin 7 ?

Redo and do it right.
My misstake.
I found some calculations for 5V vs 8v power voltage.
The resistor values are for 8 V indeed.
I will change the voltage to 8.49v, it can be done by a dip.
dddac:
No scope =(
So Im fighting in the dark.

I2S output config?
Now I tested Tda1543 chip with 8v voltage.
dc output 3.6v
Nothing. Not even noise.
And I still not have a scope.
Im really blind.
the I2S pin config makes me confused.
The CS8416 datasheet says this.
[
I2S
Audio = Low
C= High
Slap me if Im wrong.
The source is a HP laptop with sdpif out. I have used it with other "recievers" to listen to music.
Then there is all the smd caps, did the store send me smd caps with wrong value?

Ah..
I need a closer look at
pin27 OSCLK / BCK
pin28 OLRCK / WS
pin26 SDOUT / DATA
yea. Thats it.

Working!!
Howdy.
Do not complicate it when looking for errors.
Its always the simpliest ones.
Like this one.

Pin 27 OSCLK / BCK
pin28 OLRCK / WS
pin26 SDOUT / DATA
Very simple but I manage to do it wrong, hehe.
Now its working.
