Hello there! I contacted a few electronic distributors here in Italy and none of them have that series of chips, neither the LM3875 or similars. The cheapest way to have it seems to be at www.futurlec.com as they have it and they will ship by mail for 3 dollars, no minimum order. But they need a credit card that I haven't.
Someone can suggest me a way to have it here in Italy?

1. Go to http://www.national.com
2. Search for the chip of interest
3. Click on 24Hour Samples and follow the steps.
4. The chips will be kindly couriered to you for free by this time next week.
Works for me in Australia!
Just remember to not abuse the service.

Hi Giaime
If the "free samples-trick" don't work for you (and I don't think it does any longer in Europe) I think that I can send some LM3886 and possible LM3875 to you for around 4 US$ each + shipping (we just convert the hole thing to EURO and you sendt them to me in an envelope).
Have fun
Regards
Thomas

That does not work in Europe. When you ask for samples, it seems to go good. You get a nice confirmationmail with shippingdat etc.
One day later you get a mail with: sorry we can not give you the samples, contact ouy local dealer (or something like that).
I tryd it many times, allways with the same result.
I own a company, dir register me, so thats not the problem

With so many GC builders I am not surprised that National don't want to send so much samples across the world.
I am buying 3875 in local store here in Zagreb regulary for 70 kn (local currency). This is less then 10€. 3886 is even cheeper here.
Giaime, have you tried in some shop in Trieste? As I recall, 15 years ago everybody from Croatia went to Trieste to find parts while we were at the time small and closed market.

Ciao Giaime,
I'm too in Italy! I found your searched LM3886 (and similar) at these online distributors:
http://www.distrelec.com/
http://it.farnell.com/
http://www.rs-components.it/
All three accept payment different than credit card.
Bye,
Paolo

Thank you all! It seems that this thread is an Italian meeting place... Forza autocostruttori italiani!.
Edit: I tried to order samples from www.national.com, but they say that due to large request of samples, I have to pay something. I decided that's not the way to do it...

Yep!
Another good source for components is digikey:
http://it.digikey.com/
Note that the european (including italian) catalog, in euro, is about the half of the american/international:
http://www.digikey.com/
For example most of Analog Devices opamps are available only in the catalog in USD.
In the first case the shipping cost is fixed to 18 euro, in the second is higher, but usually there is an advantage in the USD/EUR exchange..
Not including shipping, Digikey has lower prices than RS, Distrelec, Farnell, etc.. and becomes advantageous for europeans if a bunch of components is purchased (not only 2 of 3).
Ciao!
Another place in Italy is www.calpedel.it
Recently I found another possible source with very good prices but it needs a large mimimum order (130€) and for some items only sells batches (LM3886TF cost about 3,2 € for 50 pcs).
Cheers
Andrea
