Cheap Sub

I want to make a really cheap subwoofer. Can anyone suggest a cheap amplifier, don't need it loud, do i really need an amp? also a cheap and small, yes 10inch and under driver . Just sorta experimenting, learning, wanna keep it cheap.

The cheapest way would be going at your local pawn shop and getting an old amplifier. For the sub just check supliers and it's easy to get som cheap thing.

I use an old Marantz reciever from the 70s to drive a dual voice coil passive sub. Even 30 watts/ch is enough to drive a 90db sub to get down to 25 Hz or so. Easier to fine tune the sound to integrate it into the rest of your system as well. Just don't forget your low pass, maybe spend good$$ on your chokes as everything else will be transitory.
