I just got a nView Spectra C, and I was going to use it to play movies using my PS2's s-vid out, but I hear it has horrible macrovision issues, and was wondering the cheapest way to fix this horrible problem?

It's only on Movie DVD's right? My PS2 games should run fine?

I can't belive I did all that searching on this product and didn't see anything until after I got it. It's on it's way in the mail, but I heard every Spectra C has macrovision problems.

I got it for 75 bucks, and don't feel or need a 100+ unit just to get out macrovision.

Any help would be nice! Thanks. I hope this gets posts, as there were threads asking about this, but no posts, or no posts that made sense (spam)

RGB signals coming out of a DVD player don't have Macrovision, e.g. when you have a cable for each colour. There are lots of sechmatics out on the web using cheap IC components that allow you to build RGB to Composit video or S-Video converters, and are all really really cheap/easy to build, e.g. less than $10 USD. You rebuild the sync signal from what is contained in the R, G and B signals, so no need to use the composit sync signal that will have macrovision issues. Basically it's what comercial RGB to S-Video or Composit Video converters (that don't do any scaling ect, the simple ones) do.

Hope this helps.

P.S Playstation will be ok. Another option as a tempory fix to test ect, play a dvd through ur computer, no problems there. People often say Windows XP cant to 640x480 which old panels support, simply goto display properties, then advanced, then adaptor, and show all modes ect, then select 640x480 ect. Hope this helps.
