Cheap Home theatre project

I have searched the net for a project that I can build for a new home theatre, unfortunately all the ones I can afford to build require drivers that I can't get in Australia. I looked at the Dayton Home theatre project from parts express, but it requires Dayton drivers which aren't available in Australia. All of the projects I can find use Vifa or Audex drivers which are very expensive here.

I can get Peerless drivers at a reasonable price and wondered if any one could help out with a Project that uses these or other low cost drivers. I already own a subwoofer so I only need the 5 book shelf speakers.

Any help appreciated.

Regards

Andrew.

PS I would design one myself using other drivers put I don't have the knowledge. I did try one but it didn't sound right and its costing a lot through trial and error.

If you're interested in kit speakers, http://www.theloudspeakerkit.com (in Melbourne) sell some great value for money 4" and 6" bookshelf and 6" floorstanding HT speaker kits. The 4" kits are AUD99 each and sound great for the price. They use Jaycar mids and Vifa tweeters. Very nice smooth midrange.

Their MTM 6" transmission line floorstanders (AUD$999) are pretty good too apparently, but i haven't heard them myself.

All there kits come with pre-cut MDF, drivers, crossovers and terminals. All you need is some wood glue and clamps.

And, no, i don't work for them :)

http://www.jaycar.com.au sells cheap drivers in Aus too...
