Cheap Chinese amps

Hi, This is my very first post so sorry if I make mistakes - let me know for next time - Does any one know what's the difference between the Aria mini, Meng el84 (with right angle bend handles) and the Mengyue mini (with curved handles) or are they all the same? They look a cheap introduction to valves once the mains transformer/internal voltages, standby and earth issues are sorted. Dave

Mengyue mini uses 6P1 output tubes (I think the Aria is the same beast dressed slightly differently). 6P1 is lower output power than EL84.
I owned a Meng mini, and once a few mods had been done, it is a fine sounding little amp.
The power output is only about 6wpc, so bear that in mind. The reality is about half what is claimed for output power on these amps.

Gary

thanks

Thanks Gary, the one I bought is the one with EL84's or to be more precise 6P14's. To my surprise and pleasure the voltages inside check out spot on so just the earth and standby to sort out. I'm surprised they attract so much negative comment.🙂
