Funny guy, this Steve. He has a lot of components in stock but he has no time??? posting it on the website. You need to send him en email with your request and he'll get back to you.
( I paid $2.00 each for the resistors)
I am in no way affiliated to his business, just wanted to share the information.

yup, I got my 38 8 and 1 ohm 50 watt alu resistors here too for my SOZ at $2 ea. They aren't non-inductive as far as I know but Nelson says that's not that important in this case.
Yes you have to call- who knows what elsre he has!! Maybe more 250w ones! Fast delivery - no problems
I have no connection either.

wow
I feel honoured that Mr. Pass also read my contribution.
Yes, I made the balanced line stage and finished the SoZ just a few days ago! (Aftter having had Quad and Nakamichi for the past 20 years, i thought it was time to upgrade?!?) It did happen!
DIY is fun, especially when you have never made pcb'c before nor soldered anything smaller than a 1/2" copper tube.
Right now i am in the stage of making it look nice for the eye : nice casing etc....... (I have real goldmine pretty close to me : the Boeing Surplus)

Check out his heatsinks, dirt cheap.

Boeing Surplus
20651 84th St. S., Kent
425-393-4065
Hours: 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Tues. - Fri.
Call them to find out when they are open on Saturdays, I forgot.
It is a mess inside as well as outside, I went the first time to look around and bought some stuff. It is really tempting not to buy a lot!!!

Every time i'm in Seattle, I try to visit the "Boeing Surplus" center - normally twice a year. My last visit back in September I managed got buy heatshrink tubing in the boxes at bargain basement prices. Havn't seen any cheap resistors there. The selection for those types of components is quite small. I find most of the people that go there flock to buy old PCs.

pc's
you are so right, I noticed that people were standing in line minutes before opening hour and they ran in like hawks... trying to get those pc's (i think the label said Silicon Graph or Graphic, purple color case)
well $225 for 800 mhz is not really a deal is it....
sold AS IS and laser printers where the powder is all over the machine for 75 to 250 is not really a steel either except ofcourse if you repair it yourself.

SG are not PC's. They are high end Unix graphics workstations used mostly for 3-d CAD and stuff. We paid about $50K each for ours (7 years ago).
