Has anyone done a a/b compairison of Elna Cerafine and Black gate caps? I found a web site that says that the cerafine is 98% as good as the BG at lower costs. ANyone find this to be true?

Which BG grade do you have in mind?
Cerafines may be similar to STD, but are completely different from type N. The choice on those caps will greatly depend on a circuit and location in a circuit, and some work better than other. On few occasions I was choosing Cerafine over BG N, but on other occasions only BG N seemed to work well.

I think BG sound fast clean and analytical but the Cerafines have a nice warm tone, I like a mix of both or Cerafine with Oscons. Not exclusively one type....
Perhaps Cerafines suit budget gear better then BG.

BG STD could be analytical in comparison.
Anyway, BG caps are not all the same, each grade sounds different.
