Is it possible to make a center tapped transformer from a transformer with 2 secondaries? If I have 2x24, can I tie the 2 wires in the middle to become the center tap and I have a 24-0-24 transformer?
Yes, but if using it to drive a convential full bridge rectifier, make sure
that the two single leads are out of phase with respect to each other.
that the two single leads are out of phase with respect to each other.
If the windings are tied out of phase, you will measure 0 volts instead of 48 v across the two extremes. If so, reverse one winding . Though, generally colours tell you what is what. The center tap, in this case joins two different colours.

No, I don't have a scope. I usually get my transformers from Antek, I suppose I can ask them, but do you know if their transformers are tied out of phase or not?
Tie two of the leads together and measure the AC voltage at the other two. If you measure mV, then you have them connected + - . - + Reverse one of the secodaries and you should see the voltage of both secondaries in series, + - . + - The connection point between them is the CT.🙂
Peronsally, I prefer two seperate secondaries. This way I can make two seperate full bridge rectifier and filter circuits, then tie them in series at the star GND.

Thanks guys, I just call antek and they told me that just tie the two middle wires to make it a center tapped transformer.
Hello, sorry for reopening an old topic, but I have a similar question.
I have bought a Myrra 44310 transformer and it has a separate 2x15V outputs, however I need a center tap, can I just connect the two middle taps to get a center tapped transformer?

Hi guy!
Hey I got a simple question I just build a power amplifier module and I need +50 0 -50 volts what transformer I need to achieve that, can I use 35 0 35 secondary from a toroidal transformer to get what I need? I got it working with a 18 0 18 and I just got +25 0 -25, just want it to be sure I don't want to burned lol thanks for any replay I really apreciated.

35-0-35 will give you just slightly less than the +/-50 VDC that you are looking for which will be perfect.
Here is how is going to look kind like I need another power supply and is complete

Hi guys every one!
I already done with a new layout for the amplifier "Studio 350" and I want it to make another one with this schematic, but I'm not sure if some one already made this power amplifier so if some one already made this one please let me know so I can begin to do it in Express PCB software here is so far the new layout for studio 350 power amp, nothing change all valor are the same just a few "cosmetic changes"
Ok so I hope some one like this new layout but I'm going to double triple check there are no errors that would be a disaster if there is one
! ok gys have a wonderful day.
