Cdrom hum

Im currently using an old cd rom as a cdp with a LM4780 chipamp.
What difference to the output will there be if any , should i change from the headphone socket on the front . This system is currently in the workshop, and i use an old Rotel 820 as the main amp until the chipamp enclosures finnished. But when testing the chip amp i noticed that the cdrom humm's slightly. Would this change if i used the audio out socket on the back of the cdrom.😀

Is it using old computer power supply to cd-rom for power source?

Is the amp hum or the cdrom hum?????

If the amp hum,should be a ground loop problem.

Power supply

Yes im using an old power supply from an old large disk drive i found at the local dump. There's no hum what so ever from the chip amp when i use my sony md (pocket Type ).
