Other obvious visible differences between the 9/44 and the 9 pro (60) is that the pro has a silk screened CDM9 Pro logo on the chassis and the spindle looks like an aluminium alloy rather then the plastic affair on the 9/44.
The motor on the 9/60 connects with an 8 or 10 conductor flex foil not the usual 2 wires from the 9/44.
It is quite a different beast and I believe Cyrus used it on the Drive master, Audiolab on the 8000CD transport, Theta Data basic and PS Audio Lambda are identical units both made by Theta. The Krell KPS20 used it as well and I think even 1 Rotel, Maybe The RCD980, not to sure of this one.
The Theta with fresh laser even plays CDRW....

Back to cdm4 for a moment.

Found an aristona 1371 (ph cd371) for peanuts and took it home.
Found it to be an older type of player:
7210 / 7220B / 1541A without philips logo, from '87.

Transport is a cdm4, but a type 11. Now the good part, the spindle motor seems to be equal to the metal cdm4 (36).
So no cheapo mibatsu (or whatever) thingie..

The transport still seems to work very well. Now, if i could get my hands on a broken cd10/11/16...😀

Greetings,
