Has anyone modified the CDM12 mechanism as found in many Marantz CD players ??
I believe some high-end players do have the CDM12 mechanism modified by the vendor but I have not seen any.
Does anyone have photos for posting??

i have been thinking of belt driving the main motor for a long time but i have never actually got down to doing it. i think CEC has belt driven their transports thou im not sure which make of lens they use.
Obviously, some tweaks are applied as routine, eg. applying damping material to the frame.
Also green leds seem to have an affect.
However, I was thinking along the lines of, for example, a subframe to stiffen up the whole structure.
I remember seeing this on a cd player but I cannot remember which!

I was wondering the same thing, maybe riveting aluminium plates to certain areas, or glueing thin strips of plywood would help stiffen it up.
