cdm 12.1- I2S?

Hello!

I've been reading this forum for a while and I thought somebody might know the solution for my problem.
I would like to build a Kusunoki based DAC but without an CS84xx. For that I would need an I2S input to my DAC.
I have an old CD player from Technics SL-PS770A. I have been doing few modification on that cd and it works a "little bit" better than before.
Since I had only digital optical output from my CD I made an coax output (SPDIF) and try it with dac from my friend. It worked really good so I think the transport is good.
This cd has an CDM12.1 transport from Philips and I wonder if it has an I2S output. Also I would like to know how to find it.
thanx in advance

thanx for reply- i thought that I might better inform what chips do I have inside my cd- well i am at my parents place so i can't tell you right now because i have all the data's at my place. i'll let you know in the morning when i come again and connect
thanx again
daniel😀

chips

o.k. here we go

on my cdm 12.1/65 cd transport i can see only two chips IC701 is AN8805SB and IC702 is MN667240.
first chip on my main board of the cd player is from NEC type UPD078042ACF (IC401), second one is from Technics Mash type MN64733 (IC801) and the two last ones are AN96A085 (IC802 and IC803).
Second one is filter from mash and the two AN's are DAC's.
so there are no saa7310
😕

Hi Daniel,
Whether your player has I2S signals does not depend on the type of transport but more on the type of Digital Signal Processor. (DSP)
Philips DSP's like SAA7310 and SAA7210 put out Philips I2S signals that you can use directly for NON-OS DACs like TDA1541 and TDA1543.
If you are are using a digital input receiver in your DAC you are lucky in this respect as these can be put in the I2S outputmode.

- i have been searching a little and have found .pdf from my first chip (UPD78042ACF) from nec. i have it on my pc so if u need it to reply please do tell me.
i must confess that i am totaly new in digital so what's in that pdf is totaly new- however i found that (IT IS FROM DATASHEET-
i think that that chip has an i2s output bu i can't locate it- pins)

UPD78042F (my chip is UPD78042ACF)
is 8-bit single-chip microcomputers that incorporate many hardware peripherals such as an FIP controller/driver, 8-bit resolution A/D converter, timer, serial
interface, and interrupt controller.

serial interface
• 3-wire serial I/O/SBI/2-wire serial I/O selectable modes: 1 channel
• 3-wire serial I/O mode (with automatic transmission/
reception function of up to 64 bytes) : 1 channel

SI0 - Input - Serial data input lines of serial interface - Input - P25/SB0
SI1 P20
SO0 - Output Serial data output lines of serial interface - Input - P26/SB1
SO1 P21
SB0 - I/O - Serial data I/O lines of serial interface - Input - P25/SI0
SB1 P26/SO0
SCK0 - I/O - Serial clock I/O lines of serial interface - Input - P27
SCK1 P22
STB - Output - Automatic transmission/reception strobe output line of serial interface - Input - P23

5.7 SERIAL INTERFACE
Two channels of clocked serial interfaces are provided.
• Serial interface channel 0
• Serial interface channel 1

Table 5-3 Serial Interface Groups and Functions

Function -- Serial interface channel 0 -- Serial interface channel 1
-3-wire serial I/O mode -- • (MSB/LSB first selectable) -- • (MSB/LSB first selectable)
-SBI (serial bus interface) mode -- • (MSB first) -- ***
-2-wire serial I/O mode -- • (MSB first) -- ***
-3-wire serial I/O mode with -- *** -- • (MSB/LSB first selectable)
automatic transmission/
reception function
