cd63 k1 remote not working

i cant get the remote to operate my marantz cd63 K1. It works ok on my other identical player so its the cd sensor thats faulty. does anyone know of a quick fix or someone who can fix it for me. I can handle a soldering iron etc but wouldn't know where to start without a diagram, or better still a picture. Help

there is a small switch at the back of the set near the 2 orange RCA connectors. You should switch it to "Internal"..... I got the same experience and I changed the remote eye and later found that it is due to the switch stuck in the external position......😡

Right, the switch is for internal or external remote operation.

I knew about the switch but once a friend brought his player to me to fix his remote control, only after opening the unit I remembered the switch, I will not forget that again. 😀

marantz cd remote not working

well here we go. my humble apologies to all those who replied to the prob with the remote. i didn't know about that bloody switch for the internal/external remote function on the back of the player,[i've got to stop drinking that Johny Walker cough medicine] suffice it to say all is now well in marantz cd land. thanks from the bootom of my glass, sorry heart, and keep up the good work. by the way has anyone got some spare parts for my cyrus project, i thought i would ask before the glass got filled up again. hic

Related question (yes, my first post in the forum is a hijack, but the problem of the TS was already fixed so it's not that bad..):

Is retrofitting a CD43 with a IR-receiver as easy as a quick glance at the service manual looks like? Just install the receiver on the front PCB?
