I have searched but discovered no simple answers
Short and sweet. Have some CD-ROMS from old computers. They have play and skip and eject buttons on the front panel. Perfect for the little lady's office with gainclone. Fired one up with 12V & 5V supply. It gets caught in a kind of an "accessing loop" for want of a better description. Put in a standard music CD and it spins up, heads access, spins down then spins up, heads try to read then spins down... over & over.
I thought these things would "just play" redbook music cd's.
Do they? Or do I need a controller?
The unit is a Lite-On LTN-526. If this is a funky model, I'm sure I could find some other gem.
