Hello,
If I were to use CD-ROM (such as Creative) as CD transport, can I simply use digital output at the back of the CD-ROM to connect to my DAC?
Is it comparable to a CD Player (as a transport) such as CD-63?
Is there anything to be aware of...or anything I can do to get the best out of it?
Thanks,
RR.

I think you can't because of different signals levels - from out of the CD-ROM you get something like 5V which is far higher then normal S/PDIF signal - you must build level converter to connect to DAC.
I would personally feel that the digital output would be compatible...(Hell thats why its there!!)....I see know reason why it could not be interfaced
here my CD-Rom Controller & DAC
