I am a novice with electronics and I'm looking to work with my (equally inexperienced) son to electronically enhance one or more of four CD players in my possession.
I would not be willing to modify the CD players without their circuit diagrams, or at least partial diagrams, but I don't know where to go to obtain circuit diagrams at all, let alone in Australia.
The CD players are:
Marantz CD-52 MkII Special Edition (my preferred one to enhance)
Marantz CD-63 MkII
Marantz CD-36 (happy to sacrfice this one to learn the ropes)
NAD-510
Initially I am particularly interested in cleaning up the clock and any other part of the digital stage which may be holding performance back. I have a modest but good separate D/A converter which seems to be a good reason to tackle Digital improvements first.
Thanks in anticipation

Hello,
If you search for CD63 in the forums, there is a link to full circuit diagrams, parts list etc.
Once you get this, go to the TNT audio website, there is a lot of good stuff about the Marantz players.
Good luck
Kevin Lee🙂

Hi Warren
I am fairly new to all of this aswell, however, I have learned a lot from reading various threads on this forum. I have just started a project on a Philips CD624 and would be happy to share any of my experiences or results with you as I go. My CDP has some similarities to your CD52 - maybe my service manual will help.
BTW - My location is Brisbane - so it will be good to help an Ozzie mate!
Regards
Fin

Hello Warren,
Marantz does not have an authorised representation in Austrialia.
So for Service info I think you have to contact:
Marantz Asia
Unit 1706
Metro Plaza Tower ll
223 Hing Fong road N.T.
Hong Kong
If they can not help you there you can contact:
Marantz Europe B.V.
P.O. Box 8744
5605 LS Eindhoven
The Netherlands
As Marantz service parts (and manuals!) are in store at
Philips Consumer Service in Eindhoven, the European office
of Marantz may be the best opportunity.
May be someone on this forum has the codenr. of the manuals you need.
Success!

Easily Solved........
"I would not be willing to modify the CD players without their circuit diagrams, or at least partial diagrams, but I don't know where to go to obtain circuit diagrams at all, let alone in Australia."
If you look in the Yellow pages you should be able to find a Marantz repairer.
They may be able to photocopy for you, or if you give them a deposit they may let you take the original manuals around the corner and copy them yourself - a sixpack of Crownies is usually good enticement.
Eric.

Thanks for all your suggestions. So far I haven't found any service manuals for these CD players online, except my CD63II which is the one I LEAST want to experiment with.
I'll check local Marantz service centres (there's one in the southern suburbs of Sydney that I know of) and definitely take Fin up on the offer of his help.
Thanks all.
