Hi guys, simple question.... Is a crossover for a compression driver and horn the same as a cone speaker? The reason is that I tried a crossover slope that looked good in xsim but the recorded sweep looked nothing like what was predicted. Hardly any roll of for a 2nd order...

Could you post details about the crossover, compression driver, horn, frequency response without crossover, frequency response with crossover?
Compression drivers usually have a series resistor, bypassed by a capacitor, to compensate for the downward sloping frequency response, caused by the mass roll off ('CD compensation'). Other than that, a second order electrical crossover is built the same way as for a cone speaker: a series capacitor and a parallel inductor. Take a look at the crossover of an Econowave.

Ok.... I had a couple of issues so its not as bad as I thought! But, I did an impedance sweep and its flat through the midrange (mid and hf only) but drops when it cross's over to the HF. The mid CD is listed at 16 ohm and the HF is 8 ohms. So the impedance plot match's the driver impedance, starts at around 12 ohms then drops to around 4 ohms on the HF. Sorry can't print the DATS screen.
How do I correct this or not worry?
