CCS or V.REG for OP anode

right...............I can remember that it's good to have one of (CCS or V. REG) before the anode of an out-put stage, but sadly it is bad to have the wrong one.
as it's been sometime since I learnt this I can't remember if it's voltage reg so the current swings to form the induction in the transformer,or it's a CCS so the volts swing to over come the impedance of the out-put transformer.

can someone help....please
