I find them interesting and helpful.

I tried lowering the plate resistor 10 12.5k and removed the cathode resistor.
Definite difference - Less Bass...better clarity...and overall better balance between bass, mids and treble.

The gain is still too high...and the plate voltage is approx only 112v. Will raising the plate voltage increase linearity? I have a 330-0-330 50ma tranformer.
 
The cathode voltage should be (to the first order) just a little higher than the max expected peak input voltage, but not so high as to cause the tube to be too close to cutoff.

2.2 uF across 27 k yields a breakpoint (-3dB) of about 2.7 Hz, so the -1 dB point will be about twice this, around 5Hz - so this combination should be fine. doubling the cap to 4.7 or 5 uF would put your 1 dB point at a couple of Hz- no need to go to hundreds of uF with 27k.
