Hi,
As the title suggests I’m looking for a replacement tweeter for my Castle Harlech S2’s. The part number is; 08-19 FX2. I believe the same tweeter is used in Howard S3’s and possibly Sterling 3’s.
Would consider complete speakers to use for parts.
Many thanks.
David.

Some images of the tweeter in question might help people remember the unit and what they have used to replace it?
My first assumption is possibly a Vifa Soft dome?
If they are no longer a current model, or don't have a direct replacement it might be sensible to measure and post the faceplate diameter and guestimate the dome diameter (19mm or 25mm) so people can make suggestions that at least fit the original tweeter cut-out. Please don't use a steel rule or suchlike to measure the diameter of the dome as it may be pulled by the magnet and you could squash or damage the dome.

Thanks for the swift response. The tweeter is 110mm diameter and 30mm deep being a 28mm soft dome type.
I appreciate both tweeters could be replaced with something like Morel 328 which will possibly alter the sound from original and I’d really prefer to keep the Castle sound.

Maybe the FX2 in the part no relates to ferrofluid. Which if used may be dried up now and the cause of loss of sound.
People have managed to carefully dismantle the tweeter and wash out the dried ferrofluid and replace or just leave it without the ferrofluid.
If you think this is the case it could be a relative simple fix.

Morel 328 looks like a very nice frequency response and 6 ohms impedance in the crossover region, maybe touch and go on output, as its not overly sensitive although it does look like it is between 87 - 90db.
Do you have specification for the overall Speaker sensitivity, or a link to a frequency response graph from an old review?
A crossover schematic would allow people to consider doable or not?

The S2’s have a sensitivity of 88db/1 watt/1metre but apart from that I have no information on frequency response or a crossover diagram.
I appreciate your willingness to offer solutions but if possible an original Castle tweeter is my preferred replacement. Also the £250ish cost of a pair of 328’s is a lot to risk if they alter the speakers sound too far from the Castle signature tone.

The monacor DT-254 is soft dome with a 110mm faceplate, but I’ve no idea if that will suit the existing crossover. They say it can be used with a low x-over frequency. They have a similar 4 hole mounting. No ferrofluid.
Wilmslow audio in the uk stock these and that is where I bought mine.

Wilmslow is a good suggestion. They have a rep for a good store of knowledge on what new drivers are good replacements for old drivers in speakers made in the UK.
My own personal experience is only a significant order in 1975 to score some unobntainium drivers from the UK (Lowthdef, Jordan-Watts …)

Thanks Dave for moving the request in the hope of finding a replacement.
If a like for like Harlech tweeter can’t be located I may have no choice but to look at alternatives such as the Monacor from Wilmslow Audio….. the cost is certainly more reasonable than the Morel ! But for the time being I have everything crossed that someone somewhere has an original tweeter doing nothing. 🤞
