Carver amplifiers
Hi folks, another new guy here. I have read the Carver posts with interest. Really learned alot, especially from Anatech.
I'm in the process of buying a Carver Silver 7t, rarely been used and is now stored in it's original box. My question is, can I hook up another preamplifier other than a Carver, or do have to have a Carver Preamp for best results?
Thanks for any help. Much appreciated.
P.S. Hi Anatech, I live in Toronto too.
Take care,
Tony.

Hey Tony,
The 7t won't know whether or not it has a Carver preamp hooked up 🙂
Just curious as to what your gonna do with just one? Passive sub or something?

Hi Bigred,
Thanks for the reply. Sorry for the multiple posts, I'm learning.
I should have mentioned the Carver 7t is a mono amp. so I will be getting both units.
Thanks again!
Tony.

Yes they are monoblocks. Your post "buying a" and "in it's original box" implies you were getting "one" which is why I asked about it's use. Not much good for stereo with only one 🙂
But these amps are cheap on the used market.
I know how to fix them. Many people do not.
I buy them for USD$120 on scambay.
Fix them with all the required mods.
Throw them in the rack and drive them hard.....not too hard.
Great bang for the buck.
I will use them till I die, or till someone gives
me a truckload of Powerlight's.
Do your homework these amps are good is you use them correctly.
P.S. I have never seen a power amp that sounded good bridged.
