Look at this board. It is some kind of epoxy, carbon fiber resin construction. 1/2 inch think. Very heavy. I was wondering if this could make for a good compact speaker cabinet? Anyone have any idea as to its resonance characteristics.
Also...this material is used to prohibit bullets!

Its definitely hard to saw...but doable. Is there a way to measure the resonance?

I wouldn't worry about the resonance, knock it with your knuckles and see how dead it seems.

Stiff is good. Light & stiff is better. Every panel will resonate. What you want is a panel that resonates at a high frequency (where it is less likely to be excited)

You aren't looking for dead. You are listening for high-pitched resonance and if it dies quickly that is better. A dead, low frequency thunk is a bad sign.

As i imagine a tink, tink, that is good. HF and fast decay (ie high internal damping)
