Carbon Fiber boxes?

Since carbon fiber is electrically conductive, it could, in theory, be used for making electronics enclosures. Of course, the bare fibers have to be exposed at one place at least in order for the panel to be conductive. Has any one used it, or seen it used, this way? Since it's conductive I assume it would also provide protection from RFI, but not EMI.

One could use the tubing for a small enclosure for a DAC/Amp/Crossover/etc...

No protection from magnetic fields. Good protection from electromagnetic radiation; less than -20dB below 1 Mhz but quite good above. Some research shows -80 dB. So, for RFI from cellphones, wifi, microwaves, etc very promising. A good reflector so effective as antennae reflectors (eg dish).

You could incorporate your ground field connection with the CF composite material choice perhaps; eg CF / copper / CF sandwich and bring your connection out via the copper.

For safety treat as metal.
