Which one should I get? My main concern is sound quality. I want something that sounds tight and accurate, which means it will probably end up in a sealed box. I have a JBL BP600.1 amp. It's 600 watts x1 @ 2ohms. Would this amp even be adequate to power a single Infinity Kappa Perfect 10DVQ or a single Brahma 10 MKII? Would a different sub be better for my application? Any help would be appreciated.
I owned a brahma 15mkI, and I have heard some infinity perfects.
The brahma is a killer sub! Incredible sound and output, small boxes, very accurate and a major Xmax!
The Perfect is also a good sub, sounds good, but a bit too polite - it can't play brutal when it has too.
But, everything stans or falls with the box you use!
Personally, I say brahma.

I own a B15mkI and B12mkII, so I can vouch for them. The 10 is the only one I haven't got to play with yet 🙁
Wire it to 1ohm (your amp will run that fine) and get a nice ported box for it and you should have good output without using a whole lot of space.

Thanks for responses, so far it looks like I'm leaning towards the Brahma in a ported box. However, I had one more question.
For highs, I'm running a pair of Infinity Kappa Perfect 6.1 speakers and they're cut off > 80hz. Would a Brahma 10 MKII in a sealed box be able to play 70-80hz accurately?
Sorry for all the questions. I want to make sure I get the right sub. The last set of speakers I owned were two 12" Orions that were in a ported box. Everything around 70-80hz sounded distorted and anything below that was really boomy. It was ok for listening to rap, but I don't listen to rap. I occasionally listen to talk radio, and I'd have to almost shut the subs off, otherwise lower voices sounded horrible!

I'd like a system that has flat response curve and that I can listen to everyday. At the same time, I'd like the ability to really crank it when I want to.

I agree that the perfect is not the sub to compare to a Brahma. The Brahma is definitely better. If you want to compare it to a Harman sub I would compare it to the JBL GTI.
However, for the power you list, I would honestly get a Koda sub. It is also XBL^2, and off of the power you have it should get just as loud as the Brahma.

I checked Adire's website and they had a helpful pdf for calculating the power handling of brahma subwoofers. They claim that a Brahma 10 only needs 700W in a .87ft3 box to reach full excursion @ > 30hz. So it looks like that amp *should* work. To be on the safe side, I emailed their tech support. Here's the email I got back. .

the B10 is able to perfamorn amazingly good!
but I do like the suggestion of the koda, if you want to save some $.
you could hulp to the acoustic visions forum for more adire freaks!

That amp does over 600watts which would be too much for a Koda 10. But perhaps a pair... 😀
I'd go with Adire's suggestion! That should play to 80hz fine. My buddy had his B12 crossed @ 80hz to some 5.25" components. It sounded great... the upper frequencies sounded great and seemed to come from up front. This was both in a sealed box and a ported box.
