The 48613 is 3.375inchs ! I've sent an e-mail to them to see if they've got any of the 2.4inch and greater cores.
I might be able to pull this project off with a single core yet

Not exactly sure, but I'm guessing well over 10kW... .

I'm guessing that the size of the core may make it difficult to use.

What material type are you looking at? I've used the P type. Any ferrite should be good. Look at core losses vs operating frequency for the frequency you'd like to use.

The company has the P and J (I think) type. P has no coat and the J is coated but has a permability of 5500u. The P is about 2500u so I'm going to order that since n channel used near that before.

Yep. The cores from Amidon worked great. I finally figured out how to get the power supply pics under 100k in order to post. When I get home tonight, I will post them.

The p type has some nice characteristics. It actually increases efficiency until you get the temp over 120C. I've never even actually been able to heat one up that hot!
