i was wondering if its possible to use 50v 4700uf caps on the psu board (chipamps board) with motorola MR751 diodes instead of the recomended?
all i need to know is yes or no, explanation would be great but i dont want to waist all your guys time. thanks.

I used NTE fast switching diodes for my prototypes....same basic specs/tolerances. You should be fine, but just to make sure I would see if I could cross-ref the diodes and see how close they are.
On the capacitors, you should be fine...just stay within the voltage tolerances....
I have used some "Crazy High" capacitance....with great results. I salvage alot of old capacitors, well parts in general for my projects, and try to use what I have lying around before build the final product....
Have fun!!
