I don’t know much about electronics theory, but from my experience, getting a good power supply for a simple circuit like the Zen is not as easy as getting the right output current on the transistor and having such a supply ripple (in my opinion 4V ptp is quite big, unless I don’t know how people measure this ripple).

I get the electronics merely at hobbyist level, too. Nevertheless, I agree that the 4Vpp ripple is big. Ideally, it must be zero. By the way, the voltage regulator of Zen V4 works for the ideal DC regulated after cutting the ripple off, i.e. 50Vin - 8V (incl. Vpp ripple and Vgs) = 42Vdc.
