Is it feasible to just do a powersupply with transformer, bridge rectifier, and large choke for a push pull output stage?
how much of the PS noise and hum will get cancelled in the output stage?
Is there an equivalent of the VR tube in SS terms?
oh and am thinking of a 20vdc PS for a class A PP output stage... probably at 5A. 2.5A per phase.
So can i get away with NO capacitor in PS?
Thanks!
Richard

Uh, no.
Steve Bench once tried it (with tubes). Obviously you still need energy storage components, for which he chose inductors. Capacitors are cheap and plentiful.
I'd be more impressed if someone made a tube amp with no magnetics, but alas, electric induction is charge, not current.
